I understand the article perfectly well. Your cheap reply only serves to highlight that I have clearly touched a nerve. And yes, I’ve judged you on what you’ve said. Admittedly, I made a leap to suggest you’d treat self-taught developers differently, but I don’t see you leaping to your own defense.
You are implying that being self-taught is inferior to a formal education, whether you mean to or not. Formally educated developers make the ‘mistakes’ you’ve highlighted – they are not exclusive to any educational journey – so what is the point in the article other than to just condescend those that are self-taught? You could remove all reference to them in the article, be left with a piece about engineering pitfalls, and share some experience in a positive way.
